At jarðfe we are on a mission to be true to historic traditions. Because of this we also try to be as true to the ingredients, tools and methods of the past.

We are also on a mission to merge the past into the present and that includes understanding the current social climate. Based on our re-imagination of old Norse customs we have a set of tenets on which our philosophy builds.

This translates into 3 fundamental rules on which the production of all our products are based:

• attempt to minimize natural impact – using recycled raw materials if possible
• as far as possible avoid the use of animal products
• as far as possible procure raw materials from local sources
